Gymnastics Victoria named finalists Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Awards
Gymnastics Victoria is delighted to have been named as finalists for two categories in the Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Awards (VDSR).
The Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Awards are a celebration of the achievements of sportspeople with disability, the coaches, organisations, officials and volunteers who support them, and the inclusive sport and recreation sector across Victoria.
The night of nights for the disability sporting sector in Victoria will be held on Tuesday 23 November on the 21st floor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Southbank’s Riverside Quay and the event will also be streamed live for those unable to attend
Special Olympics Gymnastics coach Kerry Woods from Jets Grovedale has been nominated for the Carbine Club Coach of the Year Award for her amazing contribution running online classes for Special Olympics Gymnastics athletes during lockdown.
The Creating A Positive Experience for Athletes with Autism in Gymnastics workshop developed in collaboration with Special Olympics Australia and Playbk Sports has been also been nominated as a finalist in the VicHealth Initiative of the Year – Sport category.
The awards this year are celebrating activities over an 18 month period from 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2021.
