The Gymnastics Victoria Club of the Month for November is BK Gymnastics.
BK Gymnastics is a new club which began operating in January 2019 with one site at Hoppers Crossing (in conjunction with The Grange College). The club has now grown to include four venues across Melbourne, with combined athlete numbers of around 1340. BK Gymnastics is committed to providing grassroots gymnastics to as many children and young people as possible.
BK Gymnastics have recruited 72 new coaches across the four Victorian venues, 80% of those coaches were new to gymnastics and included school students, teachers, personal trainers, sports coaches, swimming instructors, parents and people who worked with children.BK have now trained approximately 38 Beginner coaches, 24 Intermediate GFA coaches, 6 Intermediate KinderGym coaches, 8 supervisors and 8 FreeG coaches.
BK Gymnastics have created a partnership with The Grange College at Hoppers Crossing and assisted them with incorporating gymnastics into their PE curriculum at all levels of Primary and for Secondary students in their Sports Science Academy.
BK Gymnastics runs the Gymnastics Australia LaunchPad programs; including KinderGym (including BabyGym), GymFun and GymSkills as well as FreeG. BK are about to start Gym4Me classes and have been running Gymstar programs for the second half of the year. BK also offers specific (group or private) classes for children with a disability or incorporates these athletes into existing classes with support.
