 2021 Updates
 December 2021   LAT – Level 8-10
The Technical Committee have been approached regarding opportunities for athletes who are planning to retire at the end of 2022 who were hoping to achieve their LAT.

The WAG TC has approved a modified LAT process which is targeted toward athletes who had aimed to complete the relevant LAT in the second half of this year but were unable to do so due to cancelled events and who intend to finish training at the end of 2022.

Taking into account the cancellation of majority of events due to restrictions and wanting to provide an opportunity for these athletes to achieve their goal the following has been approved:

Athletes who are hoping to achieve Levels 8, 9 or 10, and who intend to finish training at the end of 2022, may submit for approval video of routines for the Technical Committee to assess for the purposes of achieving the LAT;
The videos are to be taken on the same session under competition settings, and the Technical Committee trusts coaches to ensure this is undertaken in a professional and correct way;
Matting allowances are as per the GV Events Handbook;
Videos should be taken from the position that a judge would be in at a competition and be unobstructed;
In order to allow appropriate return to training time, videos may be submitted between the dates of 6th and 17th of December – please note that the turnaround of scores and approved LAT may take some time due to the work load but you will receive a response as quickly as possible.

Videos should be submitted to  Sue Cowdell, WAG TC Events Co-ordinator ([email protected]) by 5pm on the 17th of December for consideration. Videos must be submitted by a club representative on behalf of the athlete.

LAT forms need to be submitted to Cathy Lorenzin ([email protected]) by 5pm on the 7th of January for processing.

 June 2021   The WAG Technical Committee (TC) seeks community input on the items outlined below.  We would appreciate any comments you may have about the following areas currently under review by the WAG TC.

Please join us on Wednesday, June 9th from 7.30 - 8.15pm for an online Forum hosted by GV.

1. Level 7 Division 3
One of the strategic priorities of the WAG TC in 2021 is to look at ways to increase participation, and it has been suggested to us that a Level 7 Division 3 might help in this area.

2. Level 1 & 2 Events in 2021 and beyond
The Technical Committee has noted that in 2021 there are limited events for level 1 & 2 athletes, and Beginner Coaches and Judges.

3. Invitational Season 2022
The WAG TC is looking to improve the application and selection process for Invitational events for 2022.
