Gymnastics Victorian Sport Award Finalists

 Gymnastics Victoria are proud to announce that members of the gymnastics community have been nominated for multiple Victorian Sport Awards! 

Each year the Victorian Sport Awards honours those who have made an outstanding contribution to sport in Victoria as individual or team athletes, coaches, administrators and volunteers from both metropolitan and regional areas in Victoria.

John Hart from Waverley Gymnastics Centre has been nominated for the La Trobe University Victorian Coach of the Year. Throughout 2018, John Hart has coached his athletes at state, national and international events.

Taylah Palmer
from Casey is nominated for the Gallagher Victorian Community Coach of the Year. Taylah has been coaching community gymnastics for 5 years, and at just 21 years of age, has found a passion and talent for working with children and adults with intellectual disabilities.  

Jessica Haintz is nominated for the Sports Accounting Australia Victorian Official of the Year. Jess has been a WAG judge since 2008 and has continually strived to improve her knowledge of skills in the sport.

Jenny Forssman has been nominated for the Victorian Community Official of the Year. A fierce advocate for inclusion, Jenny is an active member of Barwon Region Special Olympics and has played a significant role in the development of Special Olympics gymnastics in Geelong.

Alexandra Eade is nominated for Victorian Young Athlete of the Year. Alex won a Gold Medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games for her Floor Routine. She also helped the Australian team win the Bronze Medal at the Commonwealth Games.

The 2018 Victorian Sport Awards will be held at Marvel Stadium on Wednesday 20 February 2019.
