Australian Human Rights Commission Report - Gymnastics Victoria Response

Gymnastics Victoria welcomes the Change the Routine: Report on the Independent Review into Gymnastics in Australia released by the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) reviewing the culture and practices of gymnastics in Australia.

Gymnastics Victoria commends the brave voices from the gymnastics community who have shared their experiences and stories with the AHRC Review.

The findings and recommendations in the AHRC report are substantial. While much progress has been made in recent years regarding child safety and wellbeing, work needs to be done to address aspects of an underlying culture in gymnastics to ensure that all athletes feel safe and empowered.

Gymnastics Victoria remains committed to working collaboratively with Gymnastics Australia and across the community to further enhance gymnastics as a safe and inclusive sport for all to enjoy.
