A team competition like you’ve never seen before!

TeamGym is coming to Gymnastics Victoria and it’s not what you would expect a team sport to be.

Love doing saults, flips and vaults and want to represent your club as part of a team in Victoria? Then forget everything that you imagine Gymnastics is and break the rules with TeamGym.

This TeamGym program developed by Gymnastics Victoria provides a pathway for recreational and elite gymnasts. The path is open all the way to the top to international TeamGym. TeamGym was originally developed in Northern Europe where it is a highly popular sport and it is now expanding to other continents.

TeamGym incorporates the following apparatus in a team competition:
- Floor
- Tumbling
- Single Mini Trampoline

Gymnasts compete in teams of 6-12 participants to showcase their skills and work together to provide performances that will have the audience on the edge of their seats.

Check out our TeamGym promotional video and get inspired to start your own team today:

All 3 apparatus are performed to music making it an exciting and engaging competition for spectators and teams. Teams can compete at 3 levels and can be single gender or mixed with no restrictions on age groups.

Never used a single mini trampoline before or not interested in learning a floor routine, you just want to practice your tumbling skills? No problem, participants can pick and choose which performances they want to be part of as long as there are a minimum of 6 for each performance.

Gymnastics Victoria have been funded by VicHealth to implement TeamGym as a form of retention for Gymnasts no matter their age or ability. If you would like some further information on the research into why people drop out from sport, click here.

Gymnastics Victoria will host a pilot TeamGym competition for clubs to practice their routines and Judges to gain experience prior to the Victorian Championships in August. Competing in each apparatus is optional, so Clubs are invited to bring a team and give it a go! All teams that intend to enter the Victorian Championships must provide a Judge per team entry so attending the TeamGym Judges workshop will be essential.

Experienced UEG qualified Judges will run the Judging workshop which is a pre requisite for Judging at the Victorian Championships. Previous Judging experience is not required but some Judging knowledge would be beneficial. Entry to the competition and Judging workshop are free of charge.
