PIT Gymnastics has been nominated as the Gymnastics Victoria Club of the Month for May!
PIT Gymnastics is celebrating 40 years of operation this year. John Dorrington, with the late Annette Dorrington, put their heart and soul into building PIT into what it is today. The club is proud to have given past and present gymnasts the opportunities to fulfil their dreams.
Over the last 40 years PIT gymnastics have had many gymnasts come through their doors, from Junior right through to competitive gymnasts. They have had many gymnasts move to the High Performance Centre and achieved great results.
Many of their gymnasts have made Victorian, Border Challenge and Trans Bass teams. The committed PIT coaches have supported the club and provided many opportunities for the gymnasts. Last year, PIT had representatives at every level at the Victorian Gymnastics Championships with many successful placings.
In terms of inclusive programs at the club, Sue Pearman has been recognised for her program with inclusive gymnasts at PIT Gymnastics. Anthony Dorrington also runs a very successful Adult class that is thriving. KinderGym has run in the club for many years and has developed many of the competitive and twisters gymnasts at the club.
PIT strives to stay up to date with all Child Safety holding many team meetings to discuss good practice within the gym and outside the gym. Their aim is to nurture gymnasts by staying focused on what they can provide and doing that to the best of their ability, including keeping every child safe that walks through the doors.
