2019 Australian Gymnastics Championships – Aerobic Gymnastics
The Australian Gymnastics Championships are taking place over two weeks from 20 May – 3 June. Over 1,500 athletes will compete in 6 different Gymsports over the two weeks of competition at Melbourne Arena. Top gymnasts from each state and territory will compete for the title of 2019 Australian Champion.
The 2019 Victorian State Team for Aerobic Gymnastics (AER) includes 35 athletes from 6 different clubs in Victoria. The gymnasts will be representing Advantage Gym Sports, Aerodynamix Gymnastics, Loreto Gymnastics Club, Palmer’s Gym, Melbourne Girls’ College and Melbourne Gym Sports.
The gymnasts will compete individually as well as in Pairs, Trios and Groups.
The Aerobics competition will take place over two days during the second week of the Australian Gymnastics Championships from 30 May – 31 May. The premium Aerobics sessions will take place in the evening on the 30th and 31st May from 6:00pm. These sessions will include competition from Senior International, AG1, AG2, Level 8 & Level 9 Intermediate, Level 8 & 9 Senior and Level 10 Senior.

Aerobics Athletes to Watch

Victoria has a number of talented Aerobics Gymnasts competing this year, many of whom have recently International level. Olivia Feaver (currently coached by Angela McMillan at Advantage Gym Sports) has recently competed at a number of International competitions, including the Cantanhede FIG World Cup and the Lithuanian Open where she received a Silver Medal for her routine.
Olivia and teammate Ruby Conti (currently coached by Angela McMillan at Advantage Gym Sports) both competed at the Suzuki World Cup in Tokyo, where Ruby placed 12th in the Age Group 1 category and Olivia placed 17th in the Senior Individual competition.
Another athlete to keep an eye out for is Kenji Fujihara, who is the only male Aerobics representative from Victoria. He will be competing in the International Senior Individual Male competition on Thursday 30 May at 6:00pm.
Allie and Belle Guillou (currently coached by Sally Moore at Palmer’s Gym) are a Level 6 Pair who have a promising Aerobics career ahead of them. The Pair have the added bonus of being twin sisters! They will be competing on Thursday 30 May at 9am.
