Kipp Smith and Dion Pocklington at the Junior Artistic Gymnastics World Championships
It has been a fantastic few weeks of Victorian gymnastics, with great results from International competitions as well as multiple Victorians being selected for National Squads.

Kipp makes his mark at the Junior World Championships
Victorian Men’s Artistic gymnast Kipp Smith travelled to Hungary to compete at the inaugural Junior Artistic World Championships alongside fellow Australian teammates Jesse Moore and James Hardy.
Kipp had an amazing competition, finishing in 32nd position in the overall standings and 16th in the Pommel competition. The Australian Team put in a fantastic effort, finishing in 12th position. Congratulations to both Kipp and Coach Dion Pocklington on a great competition.
MAG Levels Open Tour 2020 Selection
The Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Levels Tour will take place in January in 2020, where gymnasts from around the country will travel to Hong Kong to compete.
Four Victorian athletes have been selected for the squad, alongside Victorian coach Oleksandr Vorobiov and judge Jeff Young.
Matthew Kapp from Dolphin Gymnastics has been selected for the Junior International Team. The Senior International team will include Ryan O’Keefe, Kynan Whitehead and William Whitehead from BTYC Gymnastics.
Acrobatic National Squad 2019-20 Selection
The 2019-20 Acrobatic Gymnastics National Squad has been announced, featuring a number of Victorian acrobats. All of the acrobats selected for the team from Victoria are from Team Adrenalin. Sophia Alhassan, Samantha Hughes and Sarsha Hughes have been selected for the 11-16 Women’s Trio.
Kathy Le, Emily Massara and Daniela Gurmesevic will represent the 12-18 Women’s Trio. Greta Di Lorenzo, Kirsty Faulkner and Laura Schwindt as well as Alessia Di Filippo, Ella Murdoch and Emily Ivanka will compete in the Senior Women’s Trio category.
WAG Levels Tour 2019 Selection
Congratulations to Tiarna Green from Jets Gymnastics who has been named on the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Levels Tour for 2019. Tiarna will travel with the rest of the Australian team to New Zealand in October this year. Kate Bickerton from Flyaway Gymnastics has also been named as a non-travelling reserve.
