Gymnastics Victoria are proud of having so many talented athletes across the State. We will be featuring Athlete of the Month profiles – you can nominate an athlete to be featured by clicking here.
The Gymnastics Victoria Athlete of the Month for December is Fleur, a Level 9 Women’s Artistic Gymnast.
Fleur Owen is being nominated for Athlete of the Month due to her dedication in gymnastics along with her love for the sport. Fleur shows her dedication by working extremely hard at all trainings and putting in 110%.
Fleur is not only is dedicated to her own gymnastics but is always pushing others in the gym and her team to do their best and have a go.
Fleur has recently had a foot injury which prevented her from qualifying to compete on the Victorian Team. Although this injury was a big setback, Fleur showed much persistence. In previous years, Fleur has been on the Victorian Team twice, and in 2017 she was the International Level 10 Australian Champion on Beam, second on Bars along with her team coming second.
Fleur is very supportive of everyone both at her club and friends from other clubs. When there is any event going on at her gym she is always there to support her club. Fleur is very determined to complete a judging course next year when she turns 15.
Keep up the great work Fleur!
