Athlete of the Month – Latisha Painter
Gymnastics Victoria are proud of having so many talented athletes across the State. We will be featuring Athlete of the Month profiles – you can nominate an athlete to be featured by clicking here.
Latisha has been nominated for athlete of the month due to the fact that she has shown dedication and interest in both her sport and the wellbeing of her teammates. She puts in a lot of hard work and is constantly stepping up when she is needed.
Latisha trains at Palmer's Gym Bendigo and constantly displays qualities of teamwork, leadership and gives a fair go to everyone around her. She is approachable and listens to athletes and coaches and tackles situations in a mature way.
Latisha’s most recent achievement was winning the Women’s Senior International Tumbling at the Australian Gymnastics Championships earlier this year. Latisha was also the Senior International National Clubs Champions in 2017, and was also selected to be the Trampoline State captain in 2016.
She often helps out at club competitions and is always there to support her fellow athletes. Outside of the gym, Latisha is working to make a career in tumbling by taking coaching and judging courses. She is one of only a few Advanced Tumbling coaches in Victoria and is also an Intermediate judge.
