Commonwealth Games: Luke Wadsworth

The Victorian Men’s High Performance Centre’s, Luke Wadsworth, is no stranger to high level competition having competed on the international stage since 2007.

Luke’s dedication to gymnastics over the past 22 years has seen him represent Australia at three World Championships, as well as the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he assisted the team to a fourth place finish.

This month’s Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast will no doubt be an experience like none other for Luke who is “excited to represent the Green and Gold” again, and says he is looking forward to “having it in my home country with a home crowd.”

Luke gives credit to gymnastics for shaping him into the person that he is today. He says that what he loves most about gymnastics is “the foundation it gives for all sports.”

After a successful career, Luke’s best advice to offer aspiring gymnasts is to “listen to your coach and fight for every tenth.”

Luke would like to thank his family for all the support over the many years he’s been involved in gymnastics.

Congratulations, Luke.
