Energetic Gymnastics is coming to Morwell

Gymnastics Victoria are excited to report that Energetic Gymnastics will be coming to Morwell in January 2018. This announcement is made just a couple of months after the owner of Morwell Academy of Gymnastics informed members and staff that the Morwell club would be closing down at the end of the year.

Energetic Gymnastics will be taking over the existing premises on Princess Drive in Morwell and has plans to deliver recreational and competitive gymnastics classes for the Morwell community. The club has been working behind the scenes to plan a smooth transition for Morwell coaches, gymnasts and their families.

Expanding club operations to run a second facility in Morwell will create more jobs, and give more children the opportunity to participate in gymnastics. The club is also looking to expand its events calendar and will host a range of activities in Morwell bringing more visitors to the town.

Energetic Gymnastics will continue to operate in Traralgon where close to 500 children participate in gymnastics classes every week. The second facility in Morwell will give competitive gymnasts the opportunity to train at both facilities which will enhance their overall training program.

Energetic Gymnastics Head Coach Elise Edgar is excited about the opportunity to provide gymnastics in both Traralgon and Morwell and what it will mean for participants.

“Local gymnasts will have access to our trampolines and foam pit in Traralgon and to an Olympic size sprung floor and bars over the foam pit in Morwell.”

“This is an exciting milestone for the club and for the Morwell community. We have worked alongside Morwell gymnasts and coaches since Energetic Gymnastics was established in 2012 and we now look forward to welcoming them to our club,” said Elise.

Energetic Gymnastics was established five years ago in Traralgon and employs a team of local coaches and office staff. The club offers a range of classes and programs for children of all ages and abilities. Approximately 75% of club members participate in recreational once-a-week classes where they learn how to move their bodies and have fun on the gymnastics equipment.

Gymnastics Victoria Acting CEO Alison Lyons is delighted to see Energetic Gymnastics expanding.

“It’s fantastic to know that gymnasts in Morwell will have the opportunity to continue their gymnastics journey at the same facility,” said Alison.

“Energetic Gymnastics have proven their ability to run a successful club and will continue to grow with the new challenge of with this new venue.”

The team at Energetic Gymnastics is excited about coming to Morwell and looks forward to providing local children and their families with the opportunity to benefit from gymnastics.
