Two Successful Conferences

Gymnastics Victoria were delighted to host two successful Club Conferences last week.

Fifty-five of Australia’s Leading Gymnastics Clubs attended the National Leading Clubs Conference on Tuesday and Wednesday while 13 of Australia’s up and coming clubs took the time to attend Thursday’s Aspiring Clubs Conference.

We were delighted to welcome Lorraine Currie from Futures Gymnastics in Canada to present at both the conferences where she shared her knowledge on subjects like Technology for Clubs, Building your Team and Customer Service. It was also great to have Gymnastics Conference veteran Frank Sahlein in town for one-on one sessions with clubs.

In addition to our international presenters it was great to be able to draw experience from the Australian Gymnastics community. At the Leading Clubs Conference John Mitchell from Delta Gymnastics in Queensland presented several engaging sessions on owning a successful club, financial literacy and trends and changes in Gymnastics. It was also great to hear from Mark Moncur from Kingsborough Gymsports in Tasmania about implementing a junior coach program.

Victoria were proudly represented with several speakers from Victorian clubs including Jasmin Meaker from Skylark Sports who presented on changing your business from the inside out and regular coach engagement, Lucy Fyfield and Aimee Royle from Hawthorn Gymnastics Centre/Movement for Life Windsor who spoke on systemising your club and James Devlin from Jets Gymnastics who discussed engaging younger staff to be career coaches.

At our Aspiring Clubs Conference Georgina Mitchell gave an inspiring presentation on what you need to do to take your club to the next level drawing on her own experience at Flyaway Gymnastics Albury Wodonga.

A big thank you to everyone who attended these conferences and a special mention to all of our wonderful presenters.
