Coach Conference Wrap Up
Gymnastics Victoria held our 2017 Coach Conference over the weekend of 28 and 29 January with 33 sessions delivered and over 220 people in attendance.
The first day incorporated theoretical coaching workshops held at Melbourne Polytechnic on topics such as Injury Management and Understanding the Biomechanics of Movement.
There were also practical coaching sessions on the first day at Movement For Life Windsor with information and demonstrations on KinderGym, Adults Programs and TeamGym.
The second day of the conference was held across several different venues with Gymsport specific workshops.
While the five Women’s Artistic Gymnastics sessions at the High Performance Centre clearly had the largest attendance it was great to also have large participation numbers at the Gymnastics For All sessions at Movement For Life Windsor.
There were courses relevant to all types of Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Coaches held at the High Performance Centre and three stimulating Rhythmic Gymnastics sessions at Prahran RG next door.
The Aerobic Gymnastics workshops were held at Aerodynamix, the Acrobatic Gymnastics sessions at Eastern Gymnastics and Trampoline Gymnastics at Cheltenham Youth Club with specific coaching skills addressed for each of the Gymsports.
Thank you to all who attended our Coach Conference and a special thank you to all the presenters and venues who hosted sessions.
Due to the demand of the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics workshops we will be running three additional sessions on Sunday February 12.
